  1. For complex, multi-faceted challenges the possibility space is complex. It is easier to start exploring than trying to define the space itself.

    Astut Explorative AI® starts from seeds that are likely already well known options.

    Novelty Search algorithms push the frontier of possibilities outwards, discovering new and different options from those found previously.

    As the exploration continues the shape and complexity of the space is discovered. This additional knowledge can be used to further inform the explorer.

  2. Astut Explorative AI® applies inverse reasoning. It uses the domain knowledge held in the constraints to systematically eliminate options that are impossible or unacceptable. Every possible option is tested against these original constraints, and those that pass are labelled as viable.

    Furthermore, every option is also tested against new additional objections that are discovered as the wide and wise exploration continues.

  3. Every viable option comes with clear reasoning that is open and transparent. Options can be challenged and refined by applying objections discovered during exploration or adding your own.
