The Team
Pete is a mathematician, founder, and deep-tech strategist advancing AI innovation, neuromorphic computing, and data science. As Founder and CEO of Astut Ltd, he is the pioneer of Astut Explorative AI® and its application to High Stakes Unprecedented Decision Making. A serial entrepreneur, Pete has a history of founding successful mathematics-driven startups. His governance experience includes serving on the EPSRC and BBSRC Councils, and the UK Ministry of Defence’s Defence Science Advisory Council (DSAC).
Sharon is a data product leader who revels in turning complex maths into commercial growth. She is passionate about building solutions that drive actionable strategy by combining her deep business process knowledge with modern cloud infrastructure. In a 20+ year career Sharon has worked across many sectors including retail, logistics, telco, and insurance. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (FIMA).

Sofia leads Astut’s Sales Strategy and Go-to-Market activities across the UK and Europe. With more than a decade of experience in Enterprise SaaS sales, she is responsible for bringing Explorative AI to the organisations that need it most, building strategic relationships with business leaders and ensuring Astut is positioned at the forefront of the next generation of decision-making. Passionate about innovation, she is committed to helping organisations discover new possibilities and tackle their most complex, unprecedented challenges.
Katie has a background in Human-Computer Interaction, specialising in human-AI teaming and the design of effective AI-supported experiences. As an Implementation Consultant at Astut, she works closely with customers through product demonstrations, onboarding and feedback sessions to understand their needs and how they use the platform. She brings these insights back to the technical team, helping shape the platform’s direction and ensuring it delivers a useful, intuitive experience for its users.
Chris is a primary architect of the Astut Hypothesis Engine®. He has designed and built Astut’s core AI technology from the ground up to ensure robust reliability for critical, high-stakes decision-making. Drawing on a distinguished background in defense, national security, and high-growth tech, he specialises in navigating novel challenges. Commended by the Chief Scientific Advisor (CSA), Chris has proven expertise in solving complex technical challenges with speed and rigour.

Jack is a full-stack developer experienced in building data-intensive products and AI processing pipelines. He works across the stack, from backend services and distributed systems to cloud infrastructure and user-facing applications. With a focus on turning early ideas into reliable production software, his career spans investment banking, defence intelligence, IT consultancy and e-commerce. He thrives on solving ambiguous technical problems, simplifying complex systems and improving performance at scale.
After 30 years in strategy consulting, including 20 as a PwC Partner, Neil retired in 2024. He capped his career leading the PwC Strategy Global Technology practice and also led PwC’s global alliances with hyperscalers. Previously, Neil led PwC’s UK and EMEA practices across various businesses in AI, Cyber Security, Data & Analytics, Strategy and Commercial Due Diligence. A trusted advisor, he led growth, and M&A engagements across Technology, Industrial Products, Airlines and Aerospace & Defence.
